Manchester United sent clear message over £60m star – Exclusive

Manchester United sent message over signing of Antony as Erik ten hag looks to re-unite with the Brazilian international at Old Trafford.

The Eredivise Champions dropped a huge hint that they are planning for life without the Brazilian international Antony by discussing the arrival of his replacement. Antony is Man United’s target as the Dutch Manager Eyes re-union with former star.

Ajax are set to complete deal for Porto’s highly-rated midfielder Francisco Conceicao worth £17million, and this would give green light to Antony to negotiate his proposed move to Manchester United.

According to Ajax’s technical manager Gerry Hamstra, he revealed that the club moved to sign Conceicao as an immediate replacement for Antony.

“On the one hand, you want to have immediately deployable players if you lose Champions League worthy players,” He told Het Parool.

“But at Ajax we also continue to think about the long term. How fast that happens depends on several factors.

“I can imagine that that goes a little faster with a Portuguese or European than with a boy from South-America. So, Conceicao is another example of bringing the successor, in this case Antony, into your selection.

“We now want to keep this group together. I assume that no one leaves this core anymore. Of course, you can never say never, I’ve learned that by now.”

Antony is poised to leave Ajax this summer with Man United wanting to sign the Brazilian winger from the Dutch Champions. However, Ajax will only sell Antony if their price is met. Erik ten Hag is keen to bring Antony to Man United.

Manchester United CEO made it clear that he was willing to offer funds to help Erik ten hag secure his signings. Man United have already signed Malacia, Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.

Antony last season contributed to 22 goals in 32 appearances, scoring 12 goals and assisting 10 helping Ajax to success.
